Roadmap Building

A live social map is an augmented reality of our daily life.

“people” - who my friends are
“place” - where my friends are
“event” - what my friends are doing

From friends discovery to places and events discovery

Problem Statement

Users demand for rich, contextualized, and live geographical information of their friends.

Solution

How might we provide interesting contents to zenly users about not only where they are, but also what they are up to in a place right now?

Events database

Feeding events data from Ticketmaster and DICE API

A map that’s uniquely for you

While people use map tools like Google Maps or Apple Maps to navigate around and check for opening hours, Zenly Map aims to create a much more personalized and dynamic social experience of where your friends are heading and where yourself have discovered. On top of that, we naturally want to give more context of people hanging out at musical festivals and other types of live events in special venues.

Designing when map is the creative interface

progressive disclosure

Depending on the zoom level, more or less detailed information are revealed or hidden

the importance of icons

Using icons and venue logos to indicate the category of place that friends are at

style of map matters

Providing 3D landmark made by zenly when focusing on a special venue

Next up - events & place sharing
